Life, Education, and Career:
3 Versions of Your Stanford Future

11:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
So you got to Stanford – hooray! Now what? Join BEAM, Stanford Career Education and the Stanford Life Design Lab to think about what you’re doing here and how to get the most out of your Stanford experience. You will explore your reasons for being at Stanford and use design thinking mindsets to envision three radically different versions of your college experience. You’ll leave with resources and next steps for gaining experience and test driving your interests at Stanford. This is a highly interactive workshop where you’ll be sharing with your peers and engaging in design activities, so please bring a pen and paper. This virtual program will be repeated on Thursday.

Hume Center Open House &
Center for Teaching and Learning Welcome Table

12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Visit the Hume Center for Writing and Speaking and meet Hume writing and oral communication tutors alongside the Center for Teaching and Learning tutors. Learn more about free resources at the Hume Center and CTL that can help you succeed during your time at Stanford. Staff from both Centers will be at the welcome table. Join us to write, speak, and soar together.

Office of Accessible Education Open House

Come visit the Office of Accessible Education, the campus entity designated to work with Stanford students with disabilities. Students with any type of documented disability may be eligible for services. Whether your disabilities are visible or invisible, temporary or chronic, the OAE is here to assist each student find the accommodations which work for them. In-person and by Zoom.

Visit the Stanford Learning Lab and learn about the services and resources we offer students with learning differences.

Technology Support Services at the Lathrop Learning Hub

1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Come stop by the Lathrop Learning Hub for information about the services available to you at the Learning Hub. From technology checkout, tech support, computers, and study spaces, the Lathrop Hub has you covered. We’ll give you a short tour outside to show you where our spaces are so once we are open in Autumn Quarter, you’ll know where to go. This program will be repeated on Thursday.

What is Research and How Do I Get Started?

New to research? Join the Undergraduate Research team in a conversation about getting started in research at Stanford. We encourage you to bring all of your questions, from “What is research?” to “How do I get to work with a faculty member on their research project?” and more.
