BEYOND SEX ED: CONSENT AND SEXUALITY AT STANFORD - PART I*

Hear personal stories from fellow students about sexuality and relationships, interspersed with a presentation on how human sexuality fits into our lives, community, and culture. Beyond Sex Ed is a compelling program designed to cultivate empathy, empowerment, and the skills to connect with ourselves and one another, with a focus on developing our sexual citizenship. This program addresses sensitive topics in a compassionate way. Professional staff will be available for support if you want to talk or if you have questions. Produced by the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response & Education (SHARE) Title IX Office.

What is college for? Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education Lanier Anderson will lead a lively conversation with Debra Satz, the Vernon R. and Lysbeth Warren Anderson Dean of the School of Humanities and Sciences, Arun Majumdar, the Dean of the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, and YOU, our newest students, on the purpose of college. You will get to hear about opposing sides of this question as you listen to our faculty model civil disagreement through discussion, as well as share your own opinions and reflections. With opening remarks from Professor Dan Edelstein, Faculty Director of Civic, Liberal, and Global Education (COLLEGE). 

Post Beyond Sex Ed Healing Space

3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. | Kingscote Gardens, Room 140
If you have been impacted by sexual/relationship violence, you are invited to verbally and nonverbally process and heal. Facilitated conversation and healing art activities will be led by the Office of Sexual Harassment/Assault Response & Education (SHARE) and the Confidential Support Team (CST). Survivors and supporters are welcome. 

Treesources: Academic and Campus Resource Fair

Check out the biggest fair of NSO. Campus offices and resources supporting student life, along with academic departments and programs from the Schools of Engineering, Humanities and Sciences, and Sustainability, will introduce you to the various ways you can find support and engagement at Stanford. Collect free swag and learn about the many opportunities that will help you make the most of your time at Stanford.
